Equinix has signed a 15-year, 121MW solar PPA with Eneos Renewable Energy, sourcing power from the Sanda Mega Solar Plant in Hyogo, Japan. Operational since 2024, the project repurposes a former golf course and will supply 100% renewable energy to Equinix’s Japanese data centers. This landmark deal, the largest single-unit vPPA by a data center provider in Japan, strengthens Equinix’s renewable portfolio and supports local grid sustainability while advancing decarbonization and energy transition goals.
