Elgin Energy has secured up to £500 million in financing from a banking syndicate to support construction of its UK solar and storage pipeline, targeting up to 1 GW capacity. The company has already secured 382 MW in Allocation Round 7, adding to earlier wins in AR6 and AR5. Projects are expected to be operational before 2030, with construction underway in Wales, and could reduce over 200,000 tonnes of carbon emissions.
