Elements Green has begun construction of the 360MW/720MWh Staythorpe battery energy storage system (BESS) in Nottinghamshire, valued at £71.5 million. Designed for grid balancing and peak demand management, it will connect via a 400kV substation and be fully operational by mid-2027. Mitie Power & Grid leads engineering, with Hithium supplying battery units.
