Electric vehicle (EV) registrations in India rose by 17% to 19.7 lakh units in FY25, driven by government policies and new model launches, according to SIAM. Electric passenger vehicles grew by 18%, while electric two-wheelers surged 21%. Three-wheeler registrations rose 10.5%. Government initiatives like the Electric Mobility Promotion Scheme (EMPS) and schemes like PM E-DRIVE and PM-eBus Sewa fueled this growth, boosting EV adoption across the country.
