Norway is on its way to become the first country to sell only electric cars, a 2025 target which at a time was a distant dream. In 2010, fewer than 1 in 350 new cars sold was EV, by 2020 it was a majority and in 2024 zero-emission cars made up at 88 % of new sales. A major reason for this is that the Norway’s oil and gas revenue pays for tax incentives, making EV a preferred choice.
