The Delhi government plans to introduce e-rickshaw charging hubs in slum clusters to reduce electricity theft and enhance safety. Makeshift charging setups with exposed wires currently pose electrocution risks and operational hazards for drivers and residents. With around 1.2 lakh registered e-rickshaws—likely double the actual number—regulated hubs will ensure safe, efficient charging, curb financial losses, and minimise accidents.
