COEP Technological University and JSW Projects will invest over ₹800 crore to set up an Advanced Battery R&D Centre at COEP Tech's Chikhali Research Park, Pune, per MoU signed Monday. India's first indigenous battery prototyping and pilot-scale platform on campus, it will have two phases: Phase 1 Cell R&D Centre for designing and prototyping lithium-ion and sodium-ion cells; Phase 2 Validation Centre for 100-600 Ah cells tailored to Indian climate at global benchmarks.
