Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) has announced a final investment decision for a 220-MW/1,100-MWh Battery Energy Storage System in northern Chile, its first in the country. Named Arena BESS, construction will begin in early 2025, aiming for operational status by early 2026. The project will enhance solar integration and support Chile's renewable energy goals.
