China has successfully tested the S2000 Stratosphere Airborne Wind Energy System, a megawatt-scale airborne turbine generating 385 kWh. Hovering 2,000 meters above Sichuan, it transmitted power to the grid. Measuring 60 meters long and 40 meters wide/tall, the system can carry additional equipment for communications, monitoring, or emergency support.
