Chile approves $423 Million Susterra Hydrogen Project

Chile has approved its largest Green Hydrogen Project, Susterra’s $423 million H2 Green Mining facility in Calama, aimed at decarbonising the copper industry. The project will start with a 20MW electrolyser producing 8.9 tonnes of hydrogen daily by 2027, scaling to 89.9 t/d by 2032. Powered by Enel’s Valle de los Vientos wind farm, it could displace 80,000 m³ of diesel annually.
