The Central Electricity Regulatory Commission has introduced reforms under the Deviation Settlement Mechanism (DSM) to tighten deviation norms for renewable energy generators. From April 2026, deviation calculations will gradually shift from “Available Capacity” to “Scheduled Generation” using a phased ‘X’ factor until 2031.
