The Central Electricity Authority (CEA) has introduced a new verification procedure for captive generating plants (CGPs) located in different states, effective from FY 2024-25. This process ensures compliance with the Electricity Rules, 2005, which require CGPs to be primarily for self-consumption, with specific ownership and consumption thresholds.
