Chinese battery maker CATL unveiled a dual-battery system for electric heavy-duty trucks, pairing a standardized swappable main battery with a 77kWh backup unit behind the cab. The backup activates below 5% charge, switching in milliseconds and boosting depth-of-discharge from 70% to over 95%. Its QIJI arm offers 5-minute swaps, BaaS pay-for-net-energy model, new 432kWh 260# and 513kWh 300# blocks.
