CATL has signed an agreement to supply 1.5 GWh of battery energy storage systems (BESS) to Spanish renewable energy developer Grenergy for its flagship Oviedo and Escuderos projects in Spain. The deal covers 252 CATL TENER S lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery units, supporting a 700 MWh standalone BESS at Oviedo and the Escuderos hybrid project combining 200 MW of solar capacity with 680 MWh of storage.
