A team at IIT Indore has developed a catalyst that produces Hydrogen from methanol at temperature as low as <130°C. The technology is currently at Technology Readiness Level 4. It provides an alternative use of methanol in hydrogen production. Also, the purified Hydrogen produced through this process needs no further CO2 removal for fuel cells.
