Canadian Solar’s subsidiary CS PowerTech Inc. has inaugurated the first phase of its 6 GW solar cell manufacturing facility in Jeffersonville, Indiana. The plant will produce heterojunction (HJT) bifacial n-type solar cells and represents nearly $1 billion investment. Once fully operational, the facility is expected to create over 1,200 skilled jobs and supply cells to Canadian Solar’s Texas module factory.
