Bulgaria has launched a 124 MW/496.2 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in Lovech, the EU’s largest such facility, according to the Ministry of Energy. Developed by Advance Green Energy AD, owned by Kiril and Georgi Domuschiev, the system includes 111 battery containers. Energy Minister Zhecho Stankov called it a first step toward Bulgaria’s 10 GWh battery storage target within a year.
