British International Investment (BII), a UK government-owned development finance institution, has sought approval from India's Competition Commission (CCI) to acquire a stake in ReNew Photovoltaics, a solar module and cell manufacturer in India. BII will invest around ₹870 crore ($100 million) to expand ReNew's capacity, including a new 4 GW TOPCon cell facility in Gujarat.
