Researchers at the University of Michigan have developed a lithium-ion battery for electric vehicles that charges fully in just 10 minutes, even in temperatures as low as -10°C. The technology, licensed to Arbor Battery Innovations, overcomes issues with lithium plating by applying a 20-nanometer glassy coating to the electrodes.
