The African Development Bank has approved a $58 million grant to expand solar power access in Eritrea’s Gash Barka region, one of Africa’s least-electrified areas. The funding will support the rollout of a 34MW solar mini-grid serving Tesseney, Kerkebet and Barentu, strengthening distribution networks and reducing diesel dependence.
