ADB has approved a $650 million policy-based loan, plus $3 million in technical assistance, to expand rooftop solar adoption for 10 million Indian households by 2027. The program supports subsidies under PMSGMBY, removes financing and regulatory barriers, and promotes gender inclusion. It follows ADB’s earlier $460 million Maharashtra solar investment.
