ACE Power's 1,000 MW Eastern Hub Firming Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), with a 4–8 hour duration and up to 8,000MWh capacity, has received a “not a controlled action” decision under Australia’s EPBC Act, allowing it to proceed without full federal assessment. Located near Uralla in New South Wales, it’s the first stage of the Hillview Energy Hub, which will also include solar and wind projects.
