The EU Commission grants €280m state aid to ArcelorMittal Belgium for h2-based decarbonization of Ghent steel production. The project includes building a direct reduction iron plant, gradually replacing natural gas with green h2. Expected to reduce 50MT of CO2 yearly, it aligns with the EU's commitment to a Net Zero economy.
