India’s power sector is set for a major transformation by 2035–36, with total installed capacity projected at 1121 GW. Renewable energy will dominate, led by 509 GW solar and 155 GW wind, pushing non-fossil capacity to 70% (786 GW). Energy storage will play a crucial role with 174 GW/888 GWh capacity.
