News Insights

TP Solar launches a 2 GW cell-producing facility in Tamil Nadu to meet the growing demand for domestically manufactured solar cells in the country as the tenders for solar projects are increasing continuously to reach the goal of 280 GW solar installed capacity by 2030. This facility will help in meeting the demand of large-scale capacity-addition projects reducing their dependence on imported equipment as the solar cells and modules imported from China pose a threat to national security. The facility launched will help increase the competition in the domestic market for better quality local manufacturing at lower cost creating opportunity for export of these solar cells. This plant facilitates the growth of solar plants in India contributing largely to India’s goal of increasing RE capacity addition.
