MSMEs urge lower network charges for Rooftop Solar

MSME associations are urging a reduction in network charges for Rooftop Solar Systems, arguing that fees applied to all generated energy—whether used on-site or exported—discourage adoption. They contend that charges should apply only to exported energy. Despite a reduction from Rs 1.53 to Rs 0.76 per unit in December 2023, charges have increased to Rs 1.59 per unit from July 2024.
