India Approves JV for 700 MWe Nuclear Power Plant in Rajasthan

The Indian government has approved a JV between NPCIL & NTPC to establish four 700 MWe Nuclear Power plants in Mahi Banswara, Rajasthan. Named Anushakti Vidyut Nigam Limited (ASHVINI), this venture allows for the construction, ownership, and operation of nuclear facilities. With NPCIL holding a 51% stake, ASHVINI aims to significantly boost India’s nuclear capacity to meet Net Zero targets by 2070
