Dear Patrons & Readers,

The government plans to rebid around 40 GW of stalled solar and wind projects due to the absence of power purchase agreements (PPAs). No investment has occurred yet, so no losses are expected. Tariffs range from Rs 2.38–2.56/unit for solar and Rs 3.70–3.90/unit for wind. FICCI announced that CERC will soon release guidelines for virtual PPAs, potentially unlocking financing. These agreements aim to support renewable energy projects without requiring traditional PPAs, enhancing ESG compliance.
