Wrightbus, based in Ballymena, Northern Ireland has announced a £25 million research and development investment to accelerate the evolution of zero-emission public transport, focusing on battery-electric and hydrogen fuel cell technologies. The funding includes £10 million for the Wrightbus StreetDeck Electroliner, a battery-electric model, and £5 million for the development of a hydrogen-powered coach, expected to launch within 18 months.
