VOC Port Authority is emerging as a hydrogen hub and exploring the possibility of setting up a shipbuilding facility in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu. Discussions are underway with HD-Korea Shipbuilding and Offshore Engineering (Hyundai Group) for this project. The initiative is part of India's plan to expand its fleet size and reduce dependence on foreign shipping companies.
