The Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) has initiated the establishment of the state's first solar expressway, spanning 296 km. Bids have been invited globally, with 1,700 hectares of land offered for solar photovoltaics. UPEIDA will charge nominal rent and seek profit shares, aiming for 50-500 megawatts of solar power, with an investment of Rs 2,500 crore.
