Uttar Pradesh has surpassed 5 GW solar capacity, achieving over 1,150% growth from 400 MW in 2017. Expansion is driven by solar parks and over 4 lakh Rooftop Systems under PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana. Consumers save ₹1,500–₹3,000 monthly and earn via net metering. Targeting 22 GW, the state is also advancing green hydrogen, strengthening clean energy adoption and economic benefits.
