Uttar Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission has approved Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited’s plan to procure 375 MW/1,500 MWh BESS through tariff-based competitive bidding with VGF support. The project will follow a BOO model with on-demand storage services. UPERC approved key deviations, including reduced financial closure timelines and simplified payment security, while rejecting bidder restrictions.
