Union Budget 2026 Boosts Solar, CCUS, Battery Manufacturing Resilience

India’s Union Budget 2026–27 prioritises cost competitiveness and resilience across solar, battery storage and clean energy manufacturing. Solar allocations rise to INR 30,539 crore, supporting PM-KUSUM, PM Surya Ghar, grid-scale projects and green corridors, alongside hydrogen funding. The budget extends customs duty exemptions for battery and critical mineral equipment, removes levies on solar glass inputs, and commits INR 20,000 crore to CCUS, signalling sustained roles for renewables, storage and thermal assets within India’s evolving energy transition.
