Telangana government approved procurement of 3 GW solar power along with 6,000 MWh (6 GWh) battery energy storage through Telangana Renewable Energy Development Corporation Limited (TGREDCO) under a 25-year plan via competitive bidding to select private developers. The solar plus BESS combination aims to meet rising power demand, enhance grid reliability and ensure steady supply when solar generation is low, addressing renewable variability.
