Tamil Nadu has allocated ₹13,561 crore for the transport sector in the revised 2026-27 budget, including plans to deploy 1,000 air-conditioned electric buses in Chennai under the GCC model. The government has earmarked ₹500 crore for EV infrastructure upgrades, including charging facilities at bus depots.
