Swedish green steel startup Stegra has secured $1.7 billion (1.4 billion euros) in funding from a Wallenberg-led investor consortium, including Temasek and IKEA-linked investors, to support construction of its hydrogen-based green steel plant in northern Sweden. The financing provides a lifeline after repeated delays, with production now expected beyond 2027.
