SSE Renewables has begun constructing a 320 MW Battery Storage project in Monk Fryston, North Yorkshire, marking its largest facility. The project, attended by SSE officials and partners Morrison Energy Services and Sungrow, aims to enhance energy resilience and grid stability. Once completed in early 2026, it will supply electricity to over 500,000 homes for up to two hours during peak demand.
