Shell is shutting down Volta Inc., its EV charging company acquired in 2023, which operated over 3,000 public charging points across 31 U.S. states. Volta also ran Volta Media, an advertising platform integrated with its charging stations. Shell will focus instead on high-speed public charging at Shell-branded sites.
