RWE and Hydrotechnik Offshore have deployed the UK's first underwater noise-abatement technology, a bubble curtain, at the 1.4GW Sofia Offshore Wind farm. This technology reduces construction noise by creating a barrier of rising bubbles around the turbine installation site, protecting marine life like harbour porpoises and whales.
