Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL) has won a significant bid for a mega 8 GW ISTS project using HVDC Technology in Gujarat, valued at approximately Rs. 25,000 crore. The project, aimed at Power evacuation from Renewable Sources, involves constructing terminal stations in Gujarat and Maharashtra.
