The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has proposed a new Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) for off-grid solar solutions. It plans to lower solar module efficiency limits for applications like solar lamps and street lights. The new efficiency requirements are 18% for crystalline silicon modules and 18% for cadmium-based modules.
