The Union Ministry of New and Renewable Energy plans to launch Tamil Nadu’s first offshore wind power tender by February 2026, following completion of a wind assessment study in January. NIWE’s floating LiDAR survey indicates high wind potential with a capacity utilization factor of 45–50%.
