MNRE has directed inverter OEMs under PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana to ensure secure handling and storage of rooftop solar data. All inverter-level and generation data, including cloud-hosted information, must be stored exclusively on secure servers within India. OEMs must comply with M2M communication and prescribed cybersecurity guidelines, provide data-logger warranty, submit written compliance confirmation and nominate a Point of Contact within 30 days.
