The MNRE mandates the use of domestically manufactured Solar PV Cells and Modules in specific schemes. Crystalline-silicon Solar PV Cells qualify as domestic only if made in India using undiffused Silicon wafers (Black Wafers). Cells made from imported diffused wafers (Blue Wafers) do not qualify.
