The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) clarified the scope of ALMM exemptions for Solar Projects like Net-Billing, Virtual Net Metering, and Group Net Metering. Projects commissioned before June 1, 2026, under these models are treated like conventional net metering for ALMM compliance. Behind-the-meter systems for government or public sector use remain under ALMM rules.
