The Ministry of Heavy Industries plans to announce eligibility criteria and incentive levels for electric trucks soon, proposing subsidies of INR 10,000/kWh, INR 15,000/kWh, and INR 20,000/kWh. The moderate subsidy could significantly reduce electric truck costs and the total cost of ownership. A scrappage certificate for existing diesel trucks may be required to qualify for incentives.
