MERC's draft regulations update demand-side management (DSM) by introducing demand flexibility to better align energy consumption with Renewable Energy supply. The combined efforts of the distribution licensees resulted in energy savings of about 50 MW. The framework sets flexibility targets, encourages technologies like EV charging and thermal storage, and offers incentives for exceeding goals.
