Matter (India) has unveiled the AERA 2026, positioning it as the country’s first geared electric motorcycle powered by a 5 kWh battery and ~10–11.5 kW motor, delivering up to 172 km range and 105 km/h top speed. The model integrates a 4-speed manual gearbox and liquid-cooled powertrain, targeting the 125–180cc ICE segment, where electric motorcycles currently account for <1% of India’s two-wheeler market.
