Maharashtra has unveiled its Renewable Energy and Energy Storage Policy 2025–36, prioritising storage-led grid development. It mandates discoms to procure storage capacity equal to 10% of demand and requires new renewable projects to integrate storage. The policy offers incentives, promotes hybrid and decentralised systems, and targets 65% renewable energy share by 2035-36.
